A new OpenHEXA release just landed and it’s a big one for data teams

Working with data shouldn’t mean juggling five different tools just to ask a simple question of your database. With this new OpenHEXA release, we’re taking a big step toward making that a thing of the past. Our open-source platform keeps evolving, and this update brings a powerful new module along with a round of under-the-hood improvements that make the whole experience smoother and safer. Discover what’s new.

Data Studio: query your data without ever leaving OpenHEXA

The headline feature of this release is Data Studio, a brand-new module built to make exploring and analyzing your data faster and more intuitive.

With Data Studio, you can now write SQL queries directly against your database tables, right inside OpenHEXA. No more switching between tools or exporting data just to run a quick check. And if SQL isn’t your strong suit, our AI agent is there to help you write the query for you.

Once you’ve written a query you like, you can:

And this is just the beginning: support for other tabular formats like Parquet and CSV is coming soon, so Data Studio will work seamlessly no matter how your data is structured.

For example, imagine an analyst on your team needs to check how many health facility records were updated last month. Instead of exporting a table, opening a separate SQL client, and emailing the result around, they simply open Data Studio, write (or ask the AI agent to help write) a short query, run it, and save it under a name like facilities_updated_last_month. A colleague working on a related report can find that saved query, reuse it instantly, and see exactly when it was last run all without leaving OpenHEXA.

Performance & stability

As with every release, we’ve also focused on keeping the platform robust, secure, and reliable:

None of this is flashy, but it’s the kind of steady, careful work that keeps a platform trustworthy over time and we’re grateful to the whole team for keeping it up, release after release.

Try it out!

Whether you’re a data analyst, an epidemiologist, or a program manager who just wants quick answers from your data, Data Studio is designed to bring that power closer to you no extra tools required.
